Day 0 - Arrival in Nairobi • Welcome to Kenya!

Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO), where you’ll be warmly greeted by the Safari N Smiles coordination team. From the moment you land, your Kenya medical and dental mission adventure begins.

 

You will have a private transfer to PrideInn Azure Hotel, a stylish retreat in the heart of Westlands, Nairobi, known for its modern comfort and vibrant city views.

In the evening, enjoy a welcome orientation and group introductions, followed by a delicious dinner where you’ll meet your fellow volunteers, healthcare professionals, and mission coordinators. This gathering sets the tone for your upcoming medical, optical, and dental outreach and the safari experience that follows.

Nairobi Safari
Day 1 – Nairobi Excursions & Wildlife Welcome
Giraffe center Nairobi

This is a day to sleep in and relax after a long flight. After breakfast, our professional safari driver-guide will pick you up from PrideInn Azure Hotel at 10:00 AM for a warm meet-and-greet before you set off on a relaxed Nairobi experience. You will then proceed to the beautiful Karunguru Coffee Farm, where you’ll enjoy a guided farm tour learning about the journey of Kenyan coffee from crop to cup, followed by an engaging coffee tasting session. Lunch at Karunguru Coffee Farm’s colonial mansion is a refined and relaxing experience set in Kenya’s lush coffee highlands. Enjoy a beautifully prepared 3 course meal served on manicured gardens or within the elegant historic house, surrounded by sweeping views of coffee fields. The atmosphere is calm and unhurried, blending old-world charm with warm Kenyan hospitality. Freshly brewed Karunguru coffee perfectly rounds out this memorable midday stop.

In the afternoon, you’ll head to the Giraffe Centre for an up-close encounter with the endangered Rothschild giraffes and learn about ongoing conservation efforts. After this memorable visit, you will enjoy a comfortable drive back to PrideInn Azure Hotel, arriving later in the afternoon to relax and unwind.

Chuka
Day 2 – Travel to Chuka • Heart of the Mission

After an early breakfast, depart Nairobi for Chuka, a picturesque town located in the lush foothills of Mount Kenya. The scenic drive takes you through rolling tea plantations, rice plains of Mwea, rural villages, and panoramic mountain views — a true glimpse into the heart of Kenya’s countryside.

Upon arrival, check in at Lowlands Hotel, your comfortable base for the Medical, Optometry & Dental Outreach program, then proceed for lunch. Take time to unload suppliesorganize medical and dental equipment, hang out at the pool or settle into your rooms as you prepare for the impactful community work ahead.

In the evening, gather with your team for a planning and coordination meeting led by the Safari N Smiles mission team. Finalize outreach schedules, assignments, and logistics for the next 2 days of healthcare service and volunteer work in local communities.

Day 3 Begin Community Medical, Optical & Dental Outreach

After a hearty breakfast Start your first impactful day with an inspiring medical and dental outreach mission at Kiereni Primary School. Join Safari N Smiles volunteers and local healthcare professionals to provide free medical checkups, dental care, eye exams, and eyeglass distribution to over 200 children and families. Deliver health education, promote community wellness, and make a real humanitarian impact in rural Kenya. Give out your donations of clothes, toys or school supplies on this day while saving some for the next mission day. Certificate issuance to local volunteers.

After a rewarding day of service, return to Lowlands Hotel, Chuka for dinner and a group reflection session or stop at the hotels bar for a few drinks.

Chuka
Day 4 – Mission Day 2 • Ikuu Community Outreach & Farewell Celebration

After breakfast, journey to Ikuu Village for the second day of the Medical, Optical & Dental Mission. Together with local medical professionals and volunteers, the team continues to provide life-changing care — offering free check-ups, treatments, dental services, and health education to the community.

Throughout the day, about 200 patients to receive medical and dental assistance, while another 200 pairs of eyeglasses are distributed to improve vision and quality of life. The collaboration with local healthcare professionals ensures continuity of care and strengthens community partnerships.

As the sun sets, the day concludes with a heartfelt farewell celebration, filled with music, traditional songs, gratitude, and shared reflections — a touching moment that captures the spirit of compassion and connection that defines the entire mission. Certificates issued to local volunteers at the end of the mission day. Evening there will be group dinner for Safari N Smiles group and certificate issuance at Lowlands hotel as we review the 2 days of the mission. Relax after dinner or join us for DJ and dancing at the hotel bar.

Amboseli
Day 5 – Chuka → Amboseli National Park
Amboseli-Elephants

After an early breakfast, check out from Lowlands Hotel and begin your scenic journey from Chuka to Amboseli National Park, one of Kenya’s most iconic safari destinations. Enjoy the changing landscapes as you descend from the lush highlands toward the open savannahs of southern Kenya.

Pause in Nairobi for lunch at Eka Hotel, before continuing towards Amboseli. We will transfer our vehicles here as well. We will switch to our 4x4 Safari Land cruisers ready for the Safari Adventure. Pair into teams of 6 per each vehicle to ensure maximum comfort everyone has a guaranteed window seat.

Arrive at Amboseli Sopa Lodge by late afternoon and take in the breathtaking views of Mount Kilimanjaro.
Settle into your lodge, unwind, and enjoy dinner surrounded by the tranquil sounds of the African night.

Day 6 – Full-Day Amboseli Safari & Maasai Village Experience

Begin your day with an early breakfast at the lodge as you prepare for an exciting adventure in the wild. You will then set out on a full-day game drive across the vast plains of Amboseli National Park, renowned for its breathtaking views of Mount Kilimanjaro and rewarding possible sightings of elephants, lions, buffaloes, giraffes, and a rich variety of birdlife.

Optional Experience but highly recommended : Take an early morning hot air balloon safari for a once-in-a-lifetime experience—glide over Amboseli as the sun rises seeing raw Africa from a vantage point of view, followed by a champagne bush breakfast( Full hot breakfast with chefs on site) surrounded by wildlife and open landscapes.

As the day unfolds, enjoy a delicious packed lunch in the park, allowing you to maximize your time exploring Amboseli’s diverse landscapes. Continue your safari adventure through the park’s shimmering wetlands before making your way up Observation Hill, where you’ll pause to take in sweeping panoramic views of the park, its wildlife, and the surrounding plains.

In the afternoon, you will enjoy a Maasai village cultural visit, where you’ll learn about the community’s rich traditions, vibrant beadwork, and unique way of life lived in harmony with nature. Put on your best dancing shoes as there is always a showdown on who can beat the Maasai at their own dance.

After this enriching cultural experience, you’ll return to the lodge later in the evening to relax, enjoy dinner, and reflect on a truly unforgettable day filled with wildlife encounters and authentic cultural connections under the African sky.

Tsavo
Day 7 – Amboseli → Tsavo East National Park • Red Elephants & Savannah

After breakfast, bid farewell to Amboseli and drive toward Tsavo East National Park, one of Kenya’s oldest and largest wildlife sanctuaries. The scenic journey offers a transition from the shadow of Mount Kilimanjaro to Tsavo’s iconic red-dust savannah.

Arrive in time for lunch at Voi Wildlife Lodge, set against sweeping views of the plains.

Relax at the pool playing pool volleyball or lay down to relax.

In the evening, head out for a game drive across Tsavo’s vast red-earth landscapes, home to the park’s famous red elephants, as well as giraffes, zebras, lions, and graceful antelopes.

Unwind on the lodge’s panoramic terrace, watching herds of wildlife gather around the nearby waterhole as the African sun sets over the horizon—a truly magical moment in the wild.

Day 8 – Morning Safari & Return to Nairobi / Continue to Diani Beach

After breakfast, check out and begin your scenic return to Nairobi. Savor a meal at the world famous Carnivore Restaurant before heading to the airport.

Arrive in the late afternoon for drop-off at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO) for evening departures or an optional extra night in the city.

For guests continuing to the coastal getaway, depart for Voi Station to board Kenya’s Standard Gauge Railway First Class, enjoying spacious seating, panoramic views, and refined onboard service on a smooth, scenic journey to Mombasa Terminus. Upon arrival, a transfer guide will take you to the Neptune Village Beach Resort & Spa, where you’ll check in and settle into the comfort of this all-inclusive seaside paradise— in time for a delicious lunch/snacks/bitings. Not to mention unlimited drinks and select alcoholic drinks, cocktails and mocktails.

Spend the afternoon soaking in the beachfront views and relaxing along the white sands of Diani, with the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean right at your doorstep. This is the perfect way to wash off the "Safari Dust."

Day 09 – Diani Beach Experience • Ocean Adventures & Coastal Culture

Wake up to the gentle sound of the ocean and enjoy a relaxed morning by the beach. Today is designed with flexibility, allowing you to choose from a variety of optional experiences:

  • Snorkeling at Kisite Marine Park and a dolphin cruise, discovering vibrant coral reefs and playful dolphins.

  • A cultural touch with a day trip to Mombasa Old Town, exploring the historic Fort Jesus, spice markets, and narrow Swahili streets.

  • For those looking for a livelier end, you may also sample Diani’s nightlife at popular beachside spots with the escort and company of our staff for safety purposes.

As evening falls, dine at the resort’s all-inclusive restaurants and enjoy a peaceful rest.

Begin your morning with a leisurely breakfast at Neptune Village Beach Resort & Spa before checking out. You’ll then enjoy a smooth transfer to a nearby Ukunda Airstrip to catch your mid-morning flight back to Nairobi.

Upon arrival, depending on your international flight schedule, you may:

  • Enjoy an optional lunch at a Nairobi restaurant.

For added comfort before departure, you can relax in an optional day-use hotel conveniently located inside Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, such as Crowne Plaza or at a nearby Eka hotel. Transport back to airport can be organized by hotel or privately on your own cost.
