This Medical Dental Mission Safari Africa trip runs May 13–24, 2026, and combines two full days of free medical, dental and eye care outreach at Kiereni and Ikuu villages near Chuka, Kenya, with a wildlife safari across Amboseli and Tsavo East National Parks. Arrival in Nairobi – Welcome to Kenya

Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, where you will be warmly greeted by the Safari N Smiles coordination team. From the moment you land, your Kenya medical and dental mission adventure begins.

You will be transferred privately to PrideInn Azure Hotel, a stylish retreat located in the vibrant Westlands district. The hotel is known for its modern comfort, excellent service, and beautiful city views, offering the perfect place to relax after your journey.

In the evening, enjoy a welcome orientation and group introductions, followed by a delicious dinner where you’ll meet your fellow volunteers, healthcare professionals, and mission coordinators. This gathering provides an overview of the upcoming medical, optical, and dental outreach program, as well as the exciting safari experiences ahead.

Nairobi Excursions & Wildlife Welcome

After your arrival in Nairobi, today is designed for rest and a gentle introduction to Kenya. Enjoy a relaxed morning to sleep in and recover from your journey. After breakfast, your professional safari driver-guide will pick you up from PrideInn Azure Hotel at 10:00 AM for a warm meet-and-greet before beginning a relaxed Nairobi experience.

You will travel to Karunguru Coffee Farm, located in Kenya’s scenic coffee highlands. During a guided tour of the farm, learn about the fascinating journey of Kenyan coffee from crop to cup, including cultivation, harvesting, and processing. The visit concludes with an engaging coffee tasting session featuring freshly roasted beans grown on the estate.

Lunch at the historic colonial mansion on the farm is a refined and relaxing experience. Enjoy a beautifully prepared three-course meal served in the manicured gardens or within the elegant house, surrounded by sweeping views of lush coffee fields. The tranquil setting blends old-world charm with warm Kenyan hospitality, and a cup of freshly brewed Karunguru coffee perfectly completes this memorable midday stop.

In the afternoon, continue to the Giraffe Centre, where you will have an up-close encounter with the endangered Rothschild's giraffe. Learn about conservation programs dedicated to protecting this rare species and enjoy the unique opportunity to feed and photograph these gentle giants.

After this memorable visit, return to PrideInn Azure Hotel in the late afternoon to relax and unwind. In the evening, the team will gather for a mission briefing to review outreach logistics and prepare for the next day’s travel and activities.

Nairobi to Chuka – Journey to Mount Kenya Foothills

After an early breakfast in Nairobi, depart for the scenic town of Chuka, located in the lush foothills of Mount Kenya. The drive offers beautiful views of Kenya’s countryside, passing through rolling tea plantations, the rice plains of Mwea, rural villages, and sweeping mountain landscapes—providing a genuine glimpse into the heart of rural Kenya.

Upon arrival in Chuka, check in at Lowlands Hotel, your comfortable base for the upcoming Medical, Optometry, and Dental Outreach Program. After check-in, enjoy lunch and take time to settle in, unload supplies, and organize medical and dental equipment in preparation for the outreach activities. You may also relax by the pool or unwind in your rooms before the work begins.

In the evening, gather with your team for a planning and coordination meeting led by the Safari N Smiles mission team. During this session, finalize outreach schedules, team assignments, and logistics for the next two days of impactful healthcare service and volunteer work in local communities.

Community Medical & Dental Outreach – Kiereni Primary School

After a hearty breakfast in Chuka, begin your first impactful day of service with an inspiring medical and dental outreach mission at Kiereni Primary School.

Working alongside Safari N Smiles volunteers and local healthcare professionals, you will help provide free medical checkups, dental care, eye exams, and eyeglass distribution to more than 200 children and families from the surrounding community. Volunteers will also deliver health education sessions, promoting better hygiene practices and overall community wellness while making a meaningful humanitarian impact in rural Kenya.

During the outreach, you will have the opportunity to distribute donations such as clothing, toys, and school supplies to children and families in need, while reserving some items for the following outreach day. The program also includes certificate presentations to local volunteers in recognition of their dedication and support.

After this rewarding day of service, return to Lowlands Hotel for dinner. In the evening, gather for a group reflection session to share experiences from the day, or unwind at the hotel bar with fellow volunteers.

Medical, Optical & Dental Outreach – Ikuu Village

After breakfast in Chuka, travel to Ikuu Village for the second day of the Medical, Optical, and Dental Mission organized by Safari N Smiles.

Working alongside local healthcare professionals and community volunteers, the team continues providing free medical check-ups, treatments, dental services, and health education to families in the area. Throughout the day, approximately 200 patients receive medical and dental care, while another 200 pairs of eyeglasses are distributed to help improve vision and overall quality of life. This collaboration with local professionals ensures continuity of care and strengthens long-term community partnerships.

As the day comes to a close, the community gathers for a heartfelt farewell celebration, filled with music, traditional songs, gratitude, and shared reflections. It’s a powerful moment that captures the spirit of compassion, service, and connection that defines the mission.

In the evening, return to Lowlands Hotel for a group dinner with the Safari N Smiles team, where certificates will be presented to local volunteers in recognition of their support during the outreach program. The team will also review and reflect on the two impactful days of service.

After dinner, relax at the hotel or join fellow volunteers for music, DJ entertainment, and dancing at the hotel bar.

Chuka to Amboseli National Park – Journey to the Safari Wilderness

After an early breakfast in Chuka, check out from Lowlands Hotel and begin your scenic journey toward Amboseli National Park, one of Kenya’s most iconic safari destinations. As you travel, enjoy the changing landscapes while descending from the lush Mount Kenya highlands into the wide-open savannahs of southern Kenya.

Stop in Nairobi for lunch at Eka Hotel Nairobi, where you will also transition into your 4x4 safari vehicles. Here, the group will switch to custom Safari Land Cruisers, designed specifically for wildlife viewing. Guests will be arranged in teams of six per vehicle to ensure maximum comfort, with each traveler guaranteed a window seat for the safari adventure ahead.

Continue the journey to Amboseli National Park, arriving in the late afternoon at Amboseli Sopa Lodge. From the lodge, enjoy breathtaking views of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest mountain, often visible above the savannah plains.

Settle into your lodge, relax after the journey, and enjoy dinner surrounded by the tranquil sounds of the African night.

Full-Day Safari in Amboseli National Park & Maasai Cultural Visit

Begin the day with an early breakfast at Amboseli Sopa Lodge before heading out for an exciting wildlife adventure in Amboseli National Park. The park is famous for its breathtaking views of Mount Kilimanjaro and for its large herds of elephants roaming across the open plains. During your full-day game drive, keep watch for lions, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, and a rich variety of birdlife that thrive in this unique ecosystem.

Optional Experience (Highly Recommended):
For a once-in-a-lifetime adventure, begin the morning with a hot air balloon safari over Amboseli. As the sun rises, glide silently above the savannah and wetlands, witnessing wildlife from a spectacular aerial perspective. The experience concludes with a champagne bush breakfast, a full hot breakfast prepared by chefs on site in the heart of the wilderness.

As the day continues, enjoy a packed lunch inside the park, allowing you to maximize your safari time. Explore Amboseli’s shimmering wetlands—important water sources that attract large concentrations of wildlife—before heading to Observation Hill. From this elevated viewpoint, take in sweeping panoramic views of the park, its wildlife, and the surrounding plains.

In the afternoon, visit a traditional Maasai village for a cultural experience. Learn about the community’s rich traditions, vibrant beadwork, and their unique way of life living in harmony with nature. Join in the lively dancing and see if you can match the famous Maasai jumping dance.

Amboseli to Tsavo East National Park – Into Kenya’s Red Savannah

After breakfast at Amboseli Sopa Lodge, bid farewell to Amboseli National Park and begin your scenic drive toward Tsavo East National Park, one of Kenya’s oldest and largest wildlife sanctuaries. Along the journey, enjoy the changing landscapes as you leave the shadow of Mount Kilimanjaro behind and enter Tsavo’s iconic red-dust savannah.

Arrive in time for lunch at Voi Wildlife Lodge, a beautiful lodge set against sweeping views of the plains. After lunch, take time to relax by the pool, enjoy a friendly game of pool volleyball, or simply unwind and soak in the peaceful surroundings.

In the evening, head out on an exciting game drive across Tsavo’s vast red-earth landscapes. The park is famous for its red elephants, whose distinctive color comes from rolling in the iron-rich soil. Keep watch for giraffes, zebras, lions, and graceful antelopes roaming the open savannah.

Later, unwind on the lodge’s panoramic terrace, where you can watch herds of wildlife gather around the nearby waterhole as the African sun sets over the horizon—creating a truly magical moment in the wild.

Following lunch, continue to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, arriving in the late afternoon for evening departures or for guests choosing to extend their stay with an optional extra night in the city.
