Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO), where you’ll be warmly greeted by the Safari N Smiles coordination team. From the moment you land, your Kenya medical and dental mission adventure begins.

You’ll transfer to PrideInn Azure Hotel, a stylish retreat in the heart of Westlands, Nairobi, known for its modern comfort and vibrant city views.

In the evening, enjoy a welcome orientation and group introductions, followed by a delicious dinner where you’ll meet your fellow volunteers, healthcare professionals, and mission coordinators. This gathering sets the tone for your upcoming medical, optical, and dental outreach and the safari experience that follows.

Day 1 – Nairobi Excursions & Wildlife Welcome
Giraffe center Nairobi

Begin your journey with an early morning game drive at Nairobi National Park, one of the only wildlife reserves in the world located just outside a major city. Watch the sunrise over the African savannah as you encounter lions, rhinos, giraffes, zebras, buffalo, and other incredible wildlife — a perfect introduction to your Kenya Medical, Optical & Dental Mission Safari Experience.

After the game drive, visit the David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage, where rescued elephant calves are lovingly nurtured until they are ready to be released back into the wild. Learn about Kenya’s leading wildlife conservation efforts and enjoy a heartwarming encounter with these gentle giants.

Enjoy a leisurely lunch at the Karen Blixen Coffee Garden, a serene and historic retreat surrounded by lush gardens, named after the author of Out of Africa.

In the afternoon, continue to the Giraffe Centre, home to the endangered Rothschild’s giraffe, where you’ll have the unique chance to hand-feed and photograph these graceful animals up close.

As the sun sets, gather back at your hotel for an evening team briefing and mission orientation led by the Safari N Smiles coordination team, reviewing logistics, safety, and the exciting Medical, Optical & Dental Outreach ahead in Eastern Kenya.

Day 2 – Travel to Chuka • Heart of the Mission

After an early breakfast, depart Nairobi for Chuka, a picturesque town located in the lush foothills of Mount Kenya. The scenic 4½-hour drive takes you through rolling tea plantations, rural villages, and panoramic mountain views — a true glimpse into the heart of Kenya’s countryside.

Upon arrival, check in at Lowlands Hotel, your comfortable base for the Medical, Optometry & Dental Outreach program. Take time to unload supplies, organize medical and dental equipment, and settle into your rooms as you prepare for the impactful community work ahead.

In the evening, gather with your team for a planning and coordination meeting led by the Safari N Smiles mission team. Finalize outreach schedules, assignments, and logistics for the next several days of healthcare service and volunteer work in local communities.

Day 3 Begin Community Medical, Optical & Dental Outreach

Start your Africa volunteer safari in Kenya with an inspiring medical and dental outreach mission at Kiereni Primary School. Join Safari N Smiles volunteers and local healthcare professionals to provide free medical checkups, dental cleanings, tooth extractions, eye exams, and eyeglass distribution to over 200 children and families. Deliver health education, promote community wellness, and make a real humanitarian impact in rural Kenya.

After a rewarding day of service, return to Lowlands Hotel, Chuka for dinner and a group reflection session on your unforgettable volunteer experience in Africa.

Day 4 – Mission Day 2 • Ikuu Community Outreach & Farewell Celebration

After breakfast, journey to Ikuu Village for the second day of the Medical, Optical & Dental Mission. Together with local clinicians, nurses, and volunteers, the team continues to provide life-changing care — offering free check-ups, treatments, dental services, and health education to the community.

Throughout the day, about 200 patients receive medical and dental assistance, while another 200 pairs of eyeglasses are distributed to improve vision and quality of life. The collaboration with local healthcare professionals ensures continuity of care and strengthens community partnerships.

As the sun sets, the day concludes with a heartfelt farewell celebration, filled with music, traditional songs, gratitude, and shared reflections — a touching moment that captures the spirit of compassion and connection that defines the entire mission.

Day 5 – Chuka → Amboseli National Park

After an early breakfast, check out and begin your scenic journey from Chuka to Amboseli National Park, one of Kenya’s most iconic safari destinations. Enjoy the changing landscapes as you descend from the lush highlands toward the open savannahs of southern Kenya.

Pause in Nairobi for lunch at Ole Sereni (overlooking Nairobi National Park) or Java House, before continuing toward Amboseli.

Arrive at Amboseli Sopa Lodge by late afternoon and take in the breathtaking views of Mount Kilimanjaro.
Settle into your lodge, unwind, and enjoy dinner surrounded by the tranquil sounds of the African night.

Day 6 – Full-Day Amboseli Safari & Maasai Village Experience

Begin your day with an early morning safari across the vast plains of Amboseli National Park, famous for its breathtaking views of Mount Kilimanjaro and close-up encounters with elephants, lions, buffaloes, giraffes, and diverse birdlife.

Optional Experience: Take an early morning hot air balloon safari for a once-in-a-lifetime experience—glide over Amboseli as the sun rises, followed by a champagne bush breakfast surrounded by wildlife and open landscapes.

After breakfast, visit a nearby Maasai Village to learn about the community’s rich traditions, vibrant beadwork, and way of life in harmony with nature.

Return to the lodge for lunch and a bit of rest before your afternoon game drive, exploring Amboseli’s shimmering wetlands and climbing Observation Hill for panoramic views of the park and its wildlife below.

Enjoy dinner and evening storytelling under a blanket of stars, a perfect end to a day of adventure and cultural connection.

Day 7 – Amboseli → Tsavo East National Park • Red Elephants & Savannah

After breakfast, bid farewell to Amboseli and drive toward Tsavo East National Park, one of Kenya’s oldest and largest wildlife sanctuaries. The scenic journey offers a transition from the shadow of Mount Kilimanjaro to Tsavo’s iconic red-dust savannah.

Arrive in time for lunch at Voi Wildlife Lodge, set against sweeping views of the plains.

In the evening, head out for a game drive across Tsavo’s vast red-earth landscapes, home to the park’s famous red elephants, as well as giraffes, zebras, lions, and graceful antelopes.

Unwind on the lodge’s panoramic terrace, watching herds of wildlife gather around the nearby waterhole as the African sun sets over the horizon—a truly magical moment in the wild.

Arrive in the late afternoon for drop-off at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO) for evening departures, or choose an optional extra night in Nairobi to relax before your flight.

You’ll then transfer to Ukunda Airport for your mid-morning flight to Nairobi, flying over the scenic Kenyan coast and countryside.
